I usually just come by myself and look for games, how do I find people to play with?
Join our TeamReach group where you can connect with other players in our community, set up games, find a partner, find a team for league play, & more.
How do I know what level I play at? (DUPR)
You don’t need a player rating to play at 3rd Shot Pickleball, but you do need one for some events & classes. Our certified teaching pros can assign ratings, or you can participate in a DUPR event, such as our Round Robins.

When should I book a court?
Book a court when:
- You have a specific group that you came to play with
- When you want to maximize your playing time & not wait in the paddle rack line
- When you have a preference of which court you’d like to play on, we can reserve it for you based on availability
This Court Is Empty, can we play on it during open play?
No, Open Play is limited to the timeframe & specific courts that it’s assigned to on CourtReserve. The other courts are available only by reservation.
Do I have to stop playing at the end of Open Play?
Just because Open Play is over doesn’t mean the fun has to stop. You will need to let the front desk know you’d like to keep playing & they will assign courts to your group if they are available.
We reserve the right to assign court time to players that continue to play over-time or on courts that are not assigned to open play. This will be an automatic charge to the account. This also applies to players that are staying on an open play court & not following open play format, not letting others rotate into their games.
How does "2 on 2 off" Open Plays work?
During open play, when a game is finished, 2 players come off the court and the next two players in the paddle rack go on. You do not need a group of 2 to join the Paddle rack, anyone can jump in line. (If player rating is correct)
Note: Groups of 2 do not get to skip over other players in line. If you have a preference about who you’re playing with, reserve a court.
How does "4 on 4 off" Open Plays work?
During open play, when a game is finished 4 players come off the court and the next 4 players in the Paddle rack go on. You do not need a group of 4 to join the paddle rack, anyone can jump in line. (If player rating is correct)
Note: Groups of 4 do not get to skip over other players in line. If you have a preference about who you’re playing with, reserve a court.
How many sessions can I register for?
You can register for as many as you’d like within your advanced booking window. 7 days for non-members, 14 days for members.
Can I register for multiple different levels of Open Play?
You may not register for multiple skill levels simultaneously. If we see you registered for more than one skill level, we will remove you from all sessions.
What if I'm late or can't make my registration?
Show up on time, after 30 minutes we’ll classify you as a no-show. If you no-show to an Open Play session, you’ll be charged $15, the drop in rate of a guest. If you aren’t going to make it to a session please let us know in advance or remove yourself from the event in CourtReserve to make space for your fellow players.
Do I need a DUPR rating for this?
Yes, many Open Play sessions will be grouped by skill level, this is based on your DUPR score. If you are not rated, you’ll need to get one to register for lower intermediate & above.
Does my guest need to have a CourtReserve account?
Yes. If they aren't not registered with CourtReserve, we will get him signed up before you play.
What types of programming can I bring a guest to?
Guest passes can be used for open play or court reservations
How many times can a guest visit using a guest pass?
Guests may use up to 3 guest passes total.
